This is the second try at using “The Most Dangerous Writing App”.
The first time I paused for too long and everything was erased. I suppose the idea is that you just keep getting words down for five minutes and that will help you to empty out your mind.
I had a nice time last night. A friend and I went out for burritos etc and some drinks. The food was ok-ish, the service was not great. I think everyone working there was in high school. And then someone tried to pay with a gift card and hoo-boy do gift cards mess up the line. They have to use a separate machine in the back to process the card, it doesn’t work with the fancy Square iPad registers.
So anyway the drinks were a lot better. Usual fancy cocktails at my fave bar. Then back to her house for cookies and Battle Bots.
Her dog had gotten skunked recently and was still a little smelly. The scent never really bothers me that much. I don’t know if that means I’m a poor smeller or maybe I just don’t mind those musky odors.
I just want to take a second and remark on how nice this app is for getting me to put some words down. I can’t imagine having gotten this far if I were just sitting in front of a blank page, without the pressure to at least produce SOMETHING. I mean hey!
OMG on the other hand, how are these 5 minutes not over yet. This is a lot of pressure, especially when I see that I have chat notifications coming in. But I can’t take time to switch over and respond to them, or I’ll lose all of my work. And I’m so close to the finish line!
Today I bought some great clothes in an end-of-summer sale and I am very excited for them to come, even if I won’t be able to wear most of them this season.
Ok my five minutes have ended. Hope it wasn’t too boring!
